Silver City, NM; May 19, 2020

For Immediate Release

The Tapas Tree Grill, which opened for business on September 3, 2015, in The Hub Plaza in historic downtown Silver City, will not be reopening for business when the Governor allows restaurant dine-in service to resume.

After trying carry-out service only after the COVID-19 related Public Health Order was first issued in March limiting restaurants to provide only take-out or delivery, Tapas Tree Grill temporarily closed on Saturday, March 28, 2020, planning to reopen when dine-in service could safely resume.  However, based on the length of time the order has been in place and the Covid Safe Practices being required to reopen for dine-in, the owners decided it was time to close.

“We have made the very difficult decision to not reopen Tapas Tree Grill.  We believe our fresh, made-to-order, quick service concept for which we are so proud of and which is appreciated by our customers is not suited for the restrictions being placed on restaurants when dine-in service resumes.” stated co-owners Kevin Hubbs and David Chapman.

Any outstanding non-promotional gift cards will be bought back at face value for anyone who wishes to do so by contacting David at 575-597-8272 or via email at tapastreedavid@gmail.com before June 19, 2020.  David can also be contacted by anyone interested in purchasing any of the restaurant’s equipment or supplies (a listing of the items for sale will be available within a few days on the restaurant’s website (www.tapastreegrill.com).

“We are so thankful to our loyal local customers, the many out of town guests and tourists, and our fantastic staff who have helped make us #1 on TripAdvisor, 5 stars on Yelp, and 4.8 stars on Google during the short time we have been part of this great community.  Our goal from the beginning was to bring affordable freshly made high quality food delivered in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere to our guests and we are very proud to say that we accomplished that goal.” stated co-owners Kevin Hubbs and David Chapman.
